First post!
Hello all and welcome to the first post of what I hope will be many. As this is my first, I’ll most likely make some newbie mistakes. Naturally, I hope you will forgive my inexperience and come back to see the growth of this blog.
As for what I’ll be writing about, generally, it will initially be about my life here as a soldier in Iraq. As of the date of this post, I only have about two more months to go, so the posts will naturally evolve into my transition into my next job in the National Guard (I’m an Active-Guard-Reserve or “AGR” soldier) and the changes in my life.
I’ll likely talk some politics (right leaning, of course) and throw in some discussion of border issues and immigration. I live in a border state which is currently involved in the National Guard placement of soldiers on the border, so I will probably have some good insight into how that is working.
Although my politics lean to the right, you will probably see me doing a little Bush-bashing from time to time. I was a big supporter at one time, but my enthusiasm has weakened recently - mostly over his immigration policies.
There may be times where my blogging falls off - hey, this is a hobby not a job! But, I’ll try to keep it relevant and interesting. I mean, why post when you really don’t have anything interesting to say?
