Big Brother is watching
My unit went through its TOA (Transfer of Authority) yesterday, so I’m pretty much foot-loose and fancy-free. My unit is now off the hook for any responsibility at this base, and we are pretty much just waiting around for an airplane to take us out of here.
Because I now have no responsibilities, I have A LOT more time for blogging. And since our MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) building has been shut down for the next three days due to a security threat, I now have EVEN MORE time for blogging.
Which, according to this story, could get me into trouble. I always knew that commanders were supposed to be monitoring the blogs of their subordinates, but there’s apparently an actual Army National Guard unit that was called up to monitor the web postings of Army soldiers.
For the three people who actually read this blog, you’ve probably noticed that I am careful never to mention my name, rank, where I live in the U.S., my unit or where exactly in Iraq I am at. I never make mention of any operation until it’s already occurred, and I haven’t discussed anything that the local population (including civilians) of this base I’m on doesn’t already know about.
I know Big Brother is watching. I also know that some Islamo-fascist bastard is watching too!
