Liberal talk radio continues to flounder
Following Tuesday’s elections, the liberals were making noise about how conservatism is dead.
Yeah, right - not hardly. The proof? Well, none of the conservative bloggers converted and none of the conservative talk shows died. On the other hand, liberal talk radio continues to tank.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard that liberal radio network Air America is facing bankruptcy and can’t even pay its on-air personalities. Now we see this, where several liberal talk radio stations in Midason, New Orleans and in West Virginia are dropping the format for other formats - like sports. (Hat tip Michelle Malkin)
The liberals are crying foul, sensing some sort of evil conservative conspiracy.
Guys, listen, this is how it works in radio. You have a program. You sell advertising for that program - that’s how you pay the bills. If you have high ratings, then you can sell more advertising for more money. If you have low ratings, no one wants to advertise on your sorry program or station. You can either stick with the lousy show with low ratings and no advertising dollars, or you can go with something that will actually pay the bills.
It’s pretty simple, really.

It’s comforting to know that you are in the minority.
Turn out the lights when you leave, no need to lock the
door no-one is interested in neo-cons anymore.
Right - which is why Rush Limbaugh is the top rated talk show host in the country, and Sean Hannity follows closely behind. Where’s your precious Air America?
