The Associated Press has been caught red-handed, regularly using a source that was supposed to be an Iraqi police officer, but has since been proven to be anything but. Gateway Pundit has an excellent roll-up of all the outrageously poor journalism that the AP has been foisting on the world - all resulting in a propaganda blitz that has fully supported the insurgency, and given ammunition to those who seek an immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces. For example, here’s a Huffington Post article called “Helicopters on Rooftops”, citing one of those fake atrocities as a reason to get out of Iraq.

Once again, an international news agency has relied on local stringers possessing dubious journalistic and ethical credentials, because they are too lazy or frightened to send their own reporters into those areas to do any REAL journalism. The whole thing makes me embarrassed to say I was once a journalist myself.
