Talking Haditha
BlueTexan, writing at Unclaimed Territory, a liberal blog, chides the conservative blogs for not being all over the Haditha case, despite it being so prevalent in the news. He then goes on to talk about often he had talked about it and how conservatives haven’t hardly mentioned it.
Actually, many have. And so have others.
Here’s why I haven’t discussed it. First, I was no where near Haditha, so I have no first-hand knowledge of the conditions in the area or the Marines there. Second, since they are Marines, I am unfamiliar with their tactical operations. Finally, since they are fellow service members, I wasn’t going to dump on them - or make excuses for them - before they had even gone to trial.
Many people on both sides of the issue did just that - dump on them or make excuses. I don’t know if they did it or not. They’ll have to stand trial. If they did it, then they should serve out the maximum punishment. If they didn’t, then they need to go free.
There, now I’ve talked about it.
