Iran-UK hostage situation continues
The “Iran holding hostages” saga continues unabated - and Iran is looking ever more like a totalitarian dictatorship. The tactics they are using are right out of Saddam’s handbook. It’s like they are hoping someone will bomb them. The latest and greatest:
First, there’s the Royal Marine “apologizing” for entering Iranian waters. I put apologize in quotes because it’s pretty obvious he was manipulated in some way to say it.
Then, there’s the third letter from the Faye Turney, sole female sailor (that Iran has particularly keyed in on), declaring the Bush and Blair governments are at fault, have abandoned them, and all forces should be withdrawn from Iraq.
The UN has gotten involved (sort of), but the Iranians are telling them to back off. The British government has called the whole thing “disgusting“
