One of the favorite arguments liberals liked to use in the run-up to the war in Iraq and after the start was that Saddam Hussein was not in league with Osama Bin Ladin, and that in fact they were at odds with one another due to Saddam’s secular government. Obviously, goes the liberal thinking, George W. Bush was lying about all that.

Powerlineblog pulls this piece from the ABC News vaults, which ran in January 1999, during the Clinton administration - and well before Goerge W. took center stage. It decidedly contradicts those liberal arguments and argues that Saddam and Bin Ladin did, in fact, have a working relationship - despite their religious differences.
