Apache drivers getting more aggressive against Taliban
The Telegraph is reporting that Apache gunship helicopters, driven by Americans, are being far more aggressive than their English counterparts - and the results have been much better. The story details an instance where this aggressiveness allowed for a Taliban ambush patrol to be caught and exterminated - including a local Taliban big-wig.
American commanders believe that the uncompromising use of airpower in recent weeks has been a key factor in preventing the Taliban from launching their expected full-scale spring offensive against coalition forces and forcing them to rethink their tactics.
Aircrews say they have been told to show no mercy, but to press home their advantage until all their targets have been destroyed. The Apache attack was one of five in three days in -Helmand, where British troops operate alongside a much smaller contingent of American infantry and special forces.
Move to the sound of the guns - take the fight to the enemy - kill them all. Sounds like the way to fight a war.
There’s no published video of the attack discussed about. However, here’s a pretty well-known video of Apache gunships taking out some “farmers”, who were actually insurgents. Smoke ‘em!
