In previous posts on the British naval hostages, I’ve stated that I wasn’t going to comment on their actions in captivity. Much of it bothered me, to include the videos of them “confessing” and the others showing them in gym clothes playing board games. But, I figured it was all part of the Iranian show and there had been some obvious Iranian mind games to get them to do it.

Having said that, some of the things that have occurred following their release have, frankly, made me embarrassed for the British Navy and their military in particular. Specifically, the fact that many have sold their stories. To top it off, one has even complained that his story sold for far less than others. This is the same guy who “cried himself to sleep” because the Iranian guards were telling him he looked like Mr. Bean.

UPDATE - Other British servicemen have taken aim at these sailors’ and marines’ payouts.
