Nice.

OK, so a small number (13%) of U.S. Muslims think suicide bombings are just fine. Inversely, you could say that a vast majority are against it. But, how many people does that 13% represent? The survey assumes 2.35 million Muslims in the U.S. 13% of that equals more than 305,000. And how many of those are really serious about the subject?

The survey has many other points, few of them any more positive. For example:

Six in 10 said they are concerned about a rise in Islamic extremism in the U.S., while three in four expressed similar worries about extremism around the world.

Alright, not toooo bad a number. But again, what would be the percentage of the entire U.S. population? I would hope that a significantly higher number of people would be concerned about Islamic extremism. The next item is a little more troublesome:

Only one in four consider the U.S. war on terrorism a sincere attempt to curtail international terror. Just 40 percent said they believe Arab men carried out the attacks of September 11.

So who else do they think did it? Hell, even Osama Bin Ladin admitted to the attack. That’s not enough to convince them?

You know, I tell myself that I shouldn’t consider all Muslims the enemy. I know that’s true. People should be judged by their actions and words, not by their religion. However, when 305,000 of my fellow Americans say suicide bombing is OK, I get a little nervous.
