Many moons ago, as a young college student, I occasionally watched the Transformers. It was a silly cartoon which depicted good robots battling bad ones here on Earth. Oh, and they always started out as fairly normal cars, trucks and airplanes before they “transformed” into the mighty battling bots. Of course, all this helped sell toys to unsuspecting parents.

When I heard there was a Transformers movie coming out, I was expecting it to look a lot like those old cartoons. So, I wasn’t overly excited about it’s prospects. Boy, was I wrong. If the movie is as good as this trailer, this thing should kick some robot ass.

UPDATE - On the other hand, the new Rambo movie, starring geriatric Sylvester Stallone, looks only mildly entertaining. Entitled “John Rambo”, the aging Vietnam Veteran (the first movie came out in 1982) takes on the Burmese (?) menace. I guess he couldn’t take on Al Qaeda as he was basically fighting with them during “Rambo III”. The production values look low and I’ve never heard of the movie company that made it. But, I love a good action movie, so I’ll see it eventually - when it comes out on DVD.

Here’s the trailer. It’s pretty gory for a trailer, so avoid it if that type of thing bothers you.
