‘Fake’ memo about food shortages appears to be real - well, maybe
Turns out, the memo I described here as being “fake”, was in fact real - or at least the situation about short-term food shortages at the time of the memo was real. The memo still looks cheesy as hell, which is what prompted the calls from the right side of the blogosphere about a fake.
As I described in my previous post, short-term food shortages are a fairly common occurrence in Iraq and don’t mean the end of the world. It is a war, you now. Usually, the problem is fixed in a day or so. Heck, I remember the Burger King at Camp Victory being out of chicken for chicken sandwiches one time for the same reasons. I think I bought a Whopper instead…
