I’m told that the Iraq War really isn’t a war
Strangely, I’ve actually had someone tell me that the current war in Iraq really isn’t a “war”, because there are no big battles going on - like in the two world wars. The relatively small numbers of U.S. deaths leads them to believe that we are really only fighting a few “gangs” over there - and therefore we are wasting time and money on these little groups of bad guys.
While I agree that the major “muscle” movements happened in the first months of the war, this person doesn’t seem to understand the concept of counter-terrorism or counter-insurgency warfare.
But, just to prove that yes, there’s still plenty of steel and lead getting thrown around, I give you the following. It’s a little old, but it proves the point.
