I’m thinking he should have gotten “dishonorable”

A Marine reservist, Corporal Adam Kokesh, has been discharged from the Marines with a “general” discharge, which is one step below “honorable”. In my mind, this a**hole should have gotten at least a “dishonerable”.
Kokesh is a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War and participated in a street theater event in Washington - while in a Marine uniform - to protest the war. Here’s the video.
Anyone who has read this blog much knows that members of the military are not allowed to make political protests, nor publicly criticize various members of Congress and the Presidency. They are especially not allowed to do it in uniform. At the same time, we’re also not allowed to appear in uniform to promote any particular party or candidate. There’s a lot of good reasons for this - mainly because we as a free nation have decided that the elected officials will run the country, and not the military.
Kokesh argued that golly gee, I’m just a reservist, and besides, I pulled the Marine labels off my uniform. You know what? That just tells me you’re a Marine who was in an improper uniform - while you were making a political statement against the war.

What an idiot - he got off way TOO easy.
What a disgrace to the uniform.
