Rosie’s Daughter Joins the Army?
I heard all of the reports yesterday in the news about Rosie posting a picture of of her daughter dressed as a soldier on her blog, complete with ammunition belt… and I thought…”What was she thinking?” Was this some sort of bizarre protest against the war? So I went to her blog (uhg!) and watched the video, which starts with pictures of her daughter dressed in various princess costumes and ends with her in the soldier costume. I guess what she was trying to say is that the war has become such a problem that her daughter is now so affected that she just wants to dress up in soldiers costumes instead of her usual princess attire. However, I thought the video was a good reminder of why we need to be fighting this war and the evil personified in the enemy.

First, in a weird way it reminded me of the Hamas kindergarten graduation ceremony where the girls were princesses and the boys were soldiers and suicide bombers. Then it reminded me of the story I saw on the news Tuesday about the little 6 year old boy who was tricked into wearing a suicide vest and asked to walk among US soldiers because it was going to spray flowers everywhere. The boy was able to get the soldiers to help him remove the vest and was unharmed. Both of these examples show how truly evil this enemy, radical Islamists, is. They will utilize even young innocent to hurt or to get their message across… hey, maybe our “friend” Rosie isn’t too different from them.

I really don’t see what all the fuss is about. If she posted what her daugthter was into last year (Princess) and now this year she is a soldier, it’s plain to see that every child goes through changes. 1 year they may want to be a rock star the next they may want to be doctor. If one can allow their child to dress up during halloween (Ghost, Ganster, Princess, Harry Potter e.g) then what’s the big issue? We all know that as a young child you go through so many changes of what we want to be when we grow up. Next year maybe she want to be president and maybe Rosie will have her in a business suite and case. What will they say then?

At first I thought the same thing, but in my mind this is obviously set up by Rosie. Why would she buy her daughter that costume when she is so against the war and has said such horrible things about our president and our soldiers. Why woud she then buy her child such a costume and then take pictures of it for her blog. To me it was such an obvious manipulation of the situation to make a point.
