Mother Sheehan takes off the gloves with the Democratic Party
(Before I go on, let me remind my readers that as an Active Duty soldier, I am not in any way publicly endorsing or degrading any of the major political parties. I am simply reporting on what one individual, well known in the anti-war community, is saying.)
St. Cindy is on a rampage of late, and the target is not who you would think — George Bush.
No, Mother Sheehan, she of the “absolute moral authority”, has a new target - the Democratic Party.
I was a lifelong Democrat only because the choices were limited. The Democrats are the party of slavery and were the party that started every war in the 20th century, except the other Bush debacle. The Federal Reserve, permanent federal income taxes, not one but two World Wars, Japanese concentration camps, and not one but two atom bombs dropped on the innocent citizens of Japan — all brought to us via the Democrats.
…Don’t tell me the Democrats are our “saviors” because I am not buying it — especially after they bought more caskets and more devastating pain when they financed and co-facilitated more of President Bush’s abysmal occupation. The Democrats also are allowing a meltdown of our republic by allowing the evils of the executive branch to continue unrestrained by their silent complicity.
You can read the rest at the link above, but it’s basically Sheehan telling us why she is thinking threatening to run against U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, if that Democratic Representative doesn’t de-fund the war, impeach Pres. Bush, etc., etc.
Actually, I’m hoping she doesn’t. If I were a regular blogger, with no ties to the military, this would actually be a blogger’s heaven. Sheehan always serves up plenty of blogging fodder. If, however, she does run against Pelosi, I’ll be forced to stop editorializing against her — my own personal nightmare.

Peace activist Sheehan taken into custody in Conyers’ office
Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested at the Capitol for disorderly conduct, shortly after saying she would run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the California Democrat’s refusal to try to impeach President Bush.
Sheehan on Monday was taken into custody inside Rep. John Conyers’ office, where she had spent an hour imploring him to launch impeachment proceedings against Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. Conyers, D-Mich., chairs the House Judiciary Committee, where any impeachment effort would have to begin. (there is more)
