The government of Sudan has agreed to allow 26,000 United Nations peace-keepers into Sudan, as part of a hybrid AU-UN force with the mandate to bring peace to the Darfur.

Oh, yay.

Naturally, the liberals are cheering this move. Of course, they acknowledge that it probably still isn’t enough to fix the problem, but they are happy that something is being done nevertheless. Great.

Now, can someone from the left explain to me why you are fighting so hard to get the U.S. pulled out of Iraq - a place you say is just a big civil war, where no one wants us there, and there is no point in us being there other than to take their oil and make Dick Cheney richer from his stock in Halliburton?

Then, take a large number of American soldiers, who apparently are too delusional to know what they are doing joining the military under George Bush, and send them to another Muslim country that has a real civil war, where no one wants us there, and there is no point in us being there other than to take their oil and make Dick Cheney richer from his stock in Halliburton (because KBR will probably get that contract too)?

You liberals always talk about how we are stressing and breaking our forces as an excuse to vacate Iraq. Won’t years of peace-keeping missions in Darfur do the same? You talk about the expense of the war, yet you want to send thousands of Americans to a primitive country that will require billions to establish bases - bases manned by eeeeeevil contractors.

OK, I know, people are getting massacred in the Sudan - I got it. Getting involved in Sudan is the humanitarian thing to do. But isn’t stopping a massacre in Iraq a pretty humanitarian thing to do, too?
