Condi as Vice President?
As an active-duty soldier, I’m not allowed to comment on candidates for national office. On the other hand, there’s nothing that says I can’t talk about people who might be candidates.
With that in mind, I’m going to tell you I like the idea of a Condoleezza Rice as Vice President on the same ticket as John McCain. Here’s why:
- Obvious foreign policy experience as Secretary of State
- She’s a woman, which helps negate the female vote for, uh, one of the other presidential candidates
- She’s African-American, which also helps blunt the overwhelming support by blacks for, well, the other presidential candidate
Of course, there’s down sides. First, as a Conservative woman of color, she’s going to be called some of the most vile names you can imagine - mostly by other people of color. Michelle Malkin, a conservative Filipina, can tell you all about that. Second, she’ll be linked to all the failures of the Bush administration. Of course, John McCain is already feeling that heat.
